It started out of a car.
Raine had no idea what she was in for when she was given the privilege and opportunity for what she thought was a simple event — a few bouquets and arrangements for a wedding. Before she knew it, she was dubbed "Wedding Decorator." Miss Raine has a habit of going one, two, thirty steps above the call of duty. How do you combine a theme of Star Wars meets Fairy Elf? That was a genuine "God, what just happened?" moment — and setup wasn't allowed the night before, only three hours before the wedding started. Stop. Breathe. Think. No — just pray.
Bride's bouquet, corsages, bridesmaids' lanterns and bouquets, tulle for the pews, church flowers, reception flowers, the book-signing table, twenty centerpieces, the bride and groom's table... and were the groomsmen really allowed to wear their Stormtrooper helmets during the ceremony? Working well under pressure, the groom called in reinforcements, and everything came together for the sweetest couple any florist could ask for. It was a lot of fun, and it unlocked something Raine hadn't seen coming.
Around that time, a high-quality flower grower started donating to her. She took buckets of pink ranunculus to church and gave them away — petals flying wherever the wind took them. People of all ages lit up at the beauty of it, and she gave flowers to her rideshare passengers too. People going through hard times had a moment of happiness. One man who'd just lost a friend said, "I've never been given a flower before." Raine's calling card became: "You're welcome, and Jesus loves you so much" — given to all walks of life.
With a taste of that "flower goodness," Raine played with the idea of starting a floral business. She'd done it before — worked in floral shops, made arrangements, helped set up weddings. So she bought a couple dozen roses, prettied them up for sale, and her rideshare passengers bought them on the spot. Next came a text to people getting ready for Valentine's Day — it was a hit. Then Easter, then Mother's Day, a birthday, an anniversary — the orders kept coming. No script, no rules, just an awakened reality that Raine thought was only a dream.
Enjoy — and yes, "Jesus Loves You!" — Raine Blooms
